Baraza Beach Resort & Spa

Zanzibar

Hotel overview

Baraza lies on the southeast coast of the exotic spice island Zanzibar, along Bwejuu beach, a long strip of bone-white sand, voted as one of the top 30 island beaches in the world by Conde Nast Traveler. Baraza could be mistaken for an Omani sultan's palace: with its mosaic interiors, elegant arches and brass bedecked chests and lanterns it represents the perfect architectural fusion of Arab and Swahili, in a deferential nod to its island host's history.

Baraza sits in over 150 acres of tropical garden, flamboyant with bougainvillea and frangipani. Its 30 villas are exquisitely furnished with beautiful antiques and heavy hardwood Zanzibari beds swathed in beach-white mosquito net. The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore the island, Stone Town and has a registered Padi Dive School for those that want to acquaint themselves with the fabulous underwater world offshore. Please note that long trousers are required for men at dinner.
