Itinerary

This morning you are met at your Hong Kong hotel and transferred to the Macau Ferry Terminal where you will board a turbojet and cross the Pearl River Delta to Macau, former Portuguese colony and since 1999 a Special Administrative Region of China. Covering an area of just 29.2 square kilometres (11 square miles) Macau has a population of over 630,000 making it one of the world’s most densely populated regions.

Spend the day exploring this fascinating footnote of history – once the world’s oldest colonial possession (1553 – 1999) and today a glittering entertainment center for Asia.

On arrival at the ferry pier clear arrival formalities and then set off retracing the footsteps of time that tell the story of Macau.  You will visit the ruins of St. Paul’s Cathedral once one of the grand churches of Asia, then recount the history of the region at the outstanding Macau Museum which is located in the historic Monte Fort which overlooks the inner harbor. Then it is on to visit the remarkable City Center of Macau which has 22 historic buildings of Portuguese and Chinese provenance that were invested between the years 2008 – 2019.

One of the highlights of your tour will be a visit to the Macau Tower. Upon arrival, a high-speed, glass-fronted elevator will whisk you up to the 217 metre high (714-feet) Observation Lounge where you can take in the sweeping panorama of the territory.

Before returning to the ferry terminal you will pay a visit to the A-Ma Temple dedicated to the goddess of the sea.  This is a time-honored tradition that is a must for any visitor to Macau.
