Day 2 - Lake Como - Private Cruise

Today meet your local English speaking guide for a half-day private boat cruise on Lake Como. Lake Como is Europe's deepest lake and is surrounded by beautiful villas and gardens. Stop in the delightful village of Bellagio, an old retreat for the nobility of Lombardy, and visit the elegant Villa Carlotta at Tremezzo with its stunning gardens. The beautiful villa was built at the end of XVII century in a natural basin between the lake and the Dolomite mountains. In 1843 the villa was gifted by the Princess of Nassau to her daughter, Carlotta, as a wedding present. The gardens of Villa Carlotta are worth the visit in every season of the year, and include: old varieties of camellias, century old cedars and sequoias, huge planes and tropical plants, the Rock garden and the Ferns valley, the Rhododendrons wood and the Bamboos garden. All this, coupled with the wonderful views across the lake, make Villa Carlotta "a place of heaven".

Today your private vehicle takes you on a full-day sightseeing tour of Milan where your expert Milanese guide is waiting for you.

Sights today include Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper"*, located in the refectory of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the colossal and flamboyant Gothic Cathedral and the Brera Gallery. Housed in a 17th-century palace, the Brera Gallery was built for the Jesuits and is considered Milan's most formidable art museum. Also not to be missed is the Galleria Vittoria Emmanuelle, La Scala Opera House, and the extremely ornate Duomo. (Please Note: availability for the "Last Supper" is limited, reservations open two months prior.)
