The headquarters of the Nelson Mandela Foundation was established in 1999 when Founder, Mr. Nelson Mandela, stepped down as the President of South Africa. While the entire building has been refurbished to accommodate a state-of-the-art archive, exhibition and dialogue spaces, Mandela’s office has been preserved as he left it when he was last in the building. This office is now part of a permanent exhibition. The center is a place dedicated to keeping the memory and the legacy of Nelson Mandela alive.
