Day 1 - Arrive Johannesburg

On arrival at O.R Tambo International Airport, please clear customs and immigration and collect your luggage. Proceed through into the Arrivals Hall, where a representative will meet and transfer you to the hotel. The transfer time is approximately 45 minutes.

Located in the peaceful gardens adjacent to the Saxon Hotel, the Saxon Luxury Villas are an exclusive boutique offering. Each Villa has a main lounge and dining room in addition to a breakfast area and bar, with dedicated 24-hour butler service and chef. The Villa guests can enjoy the privacy of the terrace and plunge pool overlooking the gardens, or alternatively make use of the main Hotel facilities. A private elevator leads from the parking area to each of the Villas.

Day 2 - Lion Sands Game Reserve

This morning transfer to O.R Tambo International Airport for your scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport. On arrival, guests are met by a lodge representative and transferred by safari vehicle to Lion Sands Private Game Reserve.

Lion Sands Ivory Lodge’s Fish Eagle Villa is the ultimate private safari experience for families and smaller groups of friends, and comes with its own Chef (meals are prepared within the Villa’s kitchen), as well as dedicated Field Guide and private safari vehicle. The Fish Eagle Villa also has its own wellness area (with double treatment room) and private exercise facility – as well as lap pool and jetty overlooking the Sabie River.

Day 3 - Lion Sands Game Reserve

Your day is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer.

Game Drives are conducted twice a day, in the company of expert Field Guides and Trackers. Vehicles move off road through rough and unchartered terrain, tracking the many animals of the bush. 

The preserved plains of the Sabi Sands and The Kruger National Park hold one of highest concentrations of game per hectare on the planet. This, coupled with ethical and responsible conservation management, have resulted in animals which are highly habituated to human presence. The Landrovers pose no threat, and able to get really close to countless animal species (including predators, general game, reptiles, insects, and birds-a-plenty).

Day 4 - Lion Sands Game Reserve

Your day is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer.

Walking Safaris are the perfect way to forge a one-on-one connection with Africa. Here you get a glimpse of what it must have been like a century ago, when pioneers and hunters made their way through The Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand in search of big game, and to find a suitable piece of land on which to build their families and fortunes.

Day 5 - Cape Town

After breakfast you will be transferred to Skukuza Airport for your scheduled flight to Cape Town International Airport. On arrival a representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel. The transfer time is approximately 45 minutes.

Day 6 - Cape Town

Your day is at leisure to explore the area. We are able to arrange a variety of touring options, from township and street art walking tours, Cape Town by motorbike side car, stand up paddle boarding in the V&A Waterfront, a private sunset boat cruise with sundowners, Table Mountain 4x4 wine safari to visits to Cape Point, Robben Island and full day winelands wine tasting and explorations.

We recommend you explore the highlights of the Cape Peninsula in a fun oriented way, embrace the ocean and explore one of the most unique marine habitats in the world. You will then head  to explore the Cape Point Nature Reserve. In the peninsula reserve you will be on the hunt for the Cape Five (Ostrich, Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Bontebok and Tortoise). Whilst at Cape Point you will also spend time exploring the beaches and ship wrecks for lost treasure. Your stand up paddling skills will be tested in the secure environment of a tidal pool - the perfect location for all ages to test out their balancing skills.

Enjoy a wild picnic before heading to Simon’s Town in search of rogue penguins on a secret beach only accessible to the locals. Snorkel in swimming pool sized rock pools, paddle SUP’s and get a unique perspective of the penguins. Head to Kalk bay to explore the working fishing harbor, meet the seals and have a go at throwing a fishing line over the harbor wall. Then head to Muizenberg for an optional surf lesson before ending the day at Cape Point Vineyards, with the best Atlantic sunset views anywhere in South Africa, before returning to base.

Day 7 - Cape Town

Enjoy another day at leisure in Cape Town and choose from the activities on offer.

For a relaxed and laid back adventure, experience breath taking views of Chapman’s Peak and Noordhoek Beach from horseback. Visit the Kapabo shipwreck and watch indigenous bird life on one of the Cape’s most beautiful beaches. End the day with a glass of champagne while watching the sun set over the beach. Knowledgeable guides and spectacular scenery will ensure an unforgettable experience.

For the art lovers, we recommend an Urban City and Arty Cape Town Inspiration tour. 
Enjoy a day of contrasts while being exposed to many various art projects and styles. Start your day with a tour of the largest Contemporary Art Museum on the African Continent, Zeitz MOCAA, with an assistant curator to help you discover this incredible space with its inspirational architecture. Proceed to explore the city, by cycling between the Art Installations with locals on the Sea Point Promenade and getting to know the city by foot. Hear fascinating stories about Cape Town’s history and modern day make up - engaging and overlooked by so many.
Along the promenade, explore the 11 art installations that tackle important subjects ranging from Rhino conservation to the 18 years Nelson Mandela spent on Robben Island.

Choose between a variety of lunch venues to suit all tastes (payable locally), from street food cafe's to fine dining. After lunch, hike to the colorful Bo Kaap, walk along the cobble stoned streets to experience a lively suburb filled with brightly colored houses from as early as the seventeenth century, Muslim saint shrines and many beautiful Mosques. In the Bo Kaap hear fascinating stories of the city relating to exciting art installations, galleries and graffiti around the city. Through the combination of it's interesting history and modern day culture, you will get a great insight into this exciting city.

Day 8 - Franschhoek

Meet your representative in the reception area of the hotel for your transfer to Franschhoek.

Located in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley on a private 30-acre estate, La Residence is a tranquil haven of luxury and relaxation. La Residence is surrounded by vineyards and plum orchards, with a spectacular mountain backdrop, breath-taking views of the undulating countryside and an atmosphere of complete tranquility.

Enjoy a fun filled day of bicycling through the picturesque vineyards of the Franschhoek winelands. All fitness levels are welcome on this stunning 27 kilometer (16 miles) cycle throughout the wine valley. Make your way through the quaint town of Franschhoek stop at the famous Huguenot Monument as your private guide tells you a bit about the French heritage of the historic town. Your trained cycle safari guide will take you to the first tasting of the day where you’ll sip on superb wines paired with either biltong, Turkish delight or locally made chocolate. Your next stop takes you off the beaten track and onto a dirt road sweeping onto the other side of the mountains. It’s here that you’ll come upon a hidden winery that specializes in award winning wines. Take a seat and enjoy the view before hopping back onto your cycle steed. After an enjoyable morning on the road, indulge in a fantastic lunch and one last wine tasting session at the renowned Moreson wine farm.

After lunch your guide will transfer you back to the hotel.

Day 9 - Franschhoek

On the final day of the trip enjoy a day of ultimate relaxation. Pamper yourself with a massage in the spa treatment room. The La Residence Spa offers a wide range of treatments and massages including the signature Pinotage treatments which uses organic grape products in a variety of beneficial ways. On a hot summer’s day, enjoy a cooling dip in the magnificent infinity pool or recline on a comfortable sun-lounger between the palm trees, under a shady umbrella.
