The falls are 1708 meters (5604 feet) wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. It drops 107 meters (351 feet) into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 550,000 cubic metres of water plummet over the edge every minute. The Falls and the surrounding area have been declared National Parks and a World Heritage Site.
A path along the edge of the forest provides the visitor who is prepared to brave the tremendous spray with an unparalleled series of views of the Falls. One special vantage point is across the Knife edge bridge, where visitors can have the finest view of the Eastern Cataract and the Main Falls as well as the Boiling Pot where the river turns and heads down the Batoka Gorge. Guests are also given the opportunity to do some curio shopping in the adjacent open-air markets before returning their hotel.
