The Homestead at El Questro was awarded The Best Outback Experience 2013 at the Australian Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards.

El Questro Homestead is an outstanding blend of remote regional hospitality and the exploration of the super outback wilderness landscape of the Kimberley. El Questro Wilderness Park is one million acres in size and really is one of the last true frontiers with rugged sandstone ranges, gorges, waterfalls and an abundant of wildlife. At the heart of the property lies El Questro Homestead, a boutique oasis, perched atop a cliff with birdseye views of the Chamberlain River - a relaxed retreat catering for a maximum of 18 guests.

The extensive experiences menu is key to the Homestead offering and there are diverse options for guided drives, bush, culture and nature tours, bird-watching, gorge hikes, swimming at pristine waterfalls and rock pools, scenic flights, remote picnics and fishing excursions.

After exploring this dramatic land of extremes, guests may soak in the thermal Zebedee Springs, curl up under an ancient Boab tree with a book, or simply join the local wallaby population and lounge in the shade.

A stay at The Homestead includes gourmet cuisine, all beverages, a personalized itinerary and guided tours within the El Questro Valley. (Additional charges apply for the Cellar Master list.)

El Questro Homestead is open from 01 April - 31 October each year.
Children 12 years and under are not catered for.

El Questro tours and activities form an integral part of every visit to the property. The Homestead offers a wide range of complimentary excursions that provide opportunities to fully immerse yourself in the natural attractions of the Wilderness Park. The majority are exclusive to Homestead guests, facilitating engagement between the small group and their guide. El Questro's enthusiastic rangers are adept at personalising your experience to your individual tastes.

Allow El Questro Homestead to tailor you a customised itinerary to ensure you sample the best of El Questro and the Kimberley while still leaving time to take in the serenity of the Homestead. Guests are encouraged to pre-book their full itinerary or individual excursions prior to arrival.

Each room is air-conditioned with an en-suite and private balcony.

Homestead Garden Room - feature modern bathrooms and furnishings. Each room has a private verandah overlooking the resort gardens with lounge furniture to relax and unwind in at the end of the day.

Chamberlain Gorge Room - are perched above the Chamberlain Gorge and feature a private deck with lounge furniture overlooking the gorge allowing guests to relax in total privacy. All rooms are stylishly appointed and feature a modern ensuite bathroom with a private al fresco bathtub cantilevered over the Gorge.

Cliff Side Retreat - the freestanding Cliff Side Retreats are situated at the edge of a sheer escarpment, overlooking the spectacular wilderness. Uninterrupted views of the Chamberlain River can be enjoyed from both your daybed and the luxurious feather topped bed that faces floor to ceiling with sliding glass walls. The thoughtfully finished retreats offer spacious, light filled interiors with quality furnishings that fit naturally with the Kimberley environment. Secluded by high stone garden walls, privacy is assured as you enjoy the free standing bath on the verandah or the garden rain shower.

The Chamberlain Suite - El Questro Homestead's most luxurious suite is perched atop the Chamberlain Gorge, and offers sublime panoramic views, and a wrap-around verandah with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the magnificent sunset and sunrise over the gorge. The verandah boasts a relaxing lounge and dining area. The suite is stylishly decorated with rustic authentic Australian furnishings, is air-conditioned and offers a large wardrobe area, a modern bathroom with double shower and private double deluxe bath overlooking the Chamberlain Gorge.

Getting There: El Questro is situated in the East Kimberley, 110 kilometres west of Kununurra by road - 58 kilometres on the sealed Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, with the remainder on the Gibb River Road - regarded as one of the great Australian 4W adventures. The Gibb River Road is now sealed between Kununurra and Emma Gorge Resort. The remainder is unsealed.
