Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you are met and transferred to your hotel.

Welcome to Buenos Aires!
Elegant, old-worldly, with a touch of Paris here and a touch of London there, a dash of New York cosmopolitanism, and a big splash of Italian exuberance, the city also has a strong Latin America personality as well as uniquely Argentine elements such as tango bars. Here, everything is grand, on a scale fit for kings: Tourists photograph vast steaks at restaurants, Nueve de Julio avenue ranks as the world’s widest, a cemetery so fancy that it occupies one of the poshest parts of the poshest neighborhood, while the entire city fronts onto the world’s widest river. Buenos Aires never fails to impress.

Explore some of the most recognizable landmarks in the southern part of the Paris of the South on a four-hour sightseeing tour. Find out about the history and culture of Buenos Aires, as you take in some of the city’s most significant spots.

Discover the most important square in the country: Plaza de Mayo. The country was founded here in 1580, and today the most important governmental buildings are located on these four streets including Casa Rosada (Government House), Cabildo (City Hall), and Catedral Metropolitana (Metropolitan Cathedral).

Walk down Defensa Street to reach San Telmo, one of the oldest areas of the city. This neighborhood maintains a great part of its architectonic patrimony intact: colonial-style houses, cobbled streets, and a bustling collection of artists’ studios, ethnic restaurants, antique shops, and boutiques. Walk through the oldest and narrowest streets of this protected colonial district, with its famous cobbled streets to Plaza Dorrego. This is the heart of 19th-century Buenos Aires, plus this area is home to some fascinating antique shops.

The next stop-off is the picturesque district of La Boca, home to Caminito, perhaps the city’s most photographed area thanks to its corrugated iron and brightly-colored houses. This block houses one of the few outdoor museums in the world, where artists exhibit works related to the influence of mainly Italian citizens who arrived at this port at the end of the 19th century. Also stop by the famous Bombonera stadium, home to legendary football soccer giants Boca Juniors, whose colors of blue and yellow adorn most of the houses and stores in this barrio.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires: Biking Tour & Cooking Class

Pedaling around Buenos Aires is an excellent way to see the city. This three-hour excursion, escorted by a group leader, will take you through key areas of Argentina’s flat capital. There are plenty of bikeways, meaning traffic will be avoided for the most part. A host of itinerary options ensures taking to the saddle will be an enjoyable ride rather than a strenuous one. After cycling, you will be transferred to a cooking class.

The cooking class has been specially designed to learn how to prepare typical Argentine meals. Bring the will to learn and have fun, we will provide everything else, including cookware and aprons.

Day 3 - Tango Life

Enjoy a Tango lesson:

The origins of the Tango are traced back to 1880 and its birthplace the slums, inhabited by Italian and Spanish immigrants, Africans, and “gauchos”. From this racial mix appeared the “compadritos” (small-time hoods) who tried to reflect in their music, words, and dance, the typical “cuchilleros” (knife fighters) duel characteristic of their social ambient. Despite its humble origins, in the 1920s tango left the brothels and the underworld districts to reach the high-class ballrooms, but to do so it had to travel to Paris to come back triumphant. Forget the mannered ballroom dancing image, tango is real roots music: sometimes sleazy, sometimes elegant, but always sensuous, rhythmic and passionate

Punta Ninfas Lighthouse:
Depart on a pick-up truck or on a bicycle towards the high cliffs which dominate Punta Ninfas. The lighthouse is located at the north end of the Peninsula. From here, stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean are obtained. It is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset or the full moon on the sea.

Elephant seals Colony:
The beaches at the foot of the cliffs, which go from the Pedral to Punta Ninfas, are elephant seals’ homes. The colony's population reaches its highest peak between September and March. During September, males start arriving, marking territory, and forming their harem.

Penguin Rockery (September-March):
Every year in September, a growing colony of friendly Magellanic penguins settles at El Pedral. A guided tour among its nests will enable you to know much more about these curious animals. El Pedral keeps a control and cleaning program along its coasts, together with collaborating with the foundation GPS, Global Penguin Society, which monitors the Magellanic penguins’ colony of Punta Ninfas

Beach program: The beach of El Pedral is a dream place to enjoy the Patagonian sea with family or friends. The pebbled shore is a unique geological formation in Patagonia, comprising a 9,000 metre-long pebble beach, 900 m wide and 8 m in depth. Depending on the time of the year, you will be able to watch the wonderful show by southern right whales, which get close to the shore due to the profound depth of those waters. Happening more often during the months of August and September, they can be observed during the whole whale watching season (end of May till the end of December).

Guarded by majestic mountains and Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche stands proudly as the gateway to the stunning Lake District. This city has strong ties to central Europe as many families immigrated from Germany, Switzerland, and Northern Italy over the past century. Their influence is easily found in the local culture and, of course, in the mountain-style architecture.

Bariloche is one of Argentina’s most exciting resorts, it offers mountain resort activities and every season is distinctively charming. Summer is best for outdoor activities and sports such as trout fishing, horseback riding, rafting, trekking, and hiking. Enjoy lazy days at the lake at river beaches or more vigorous mountain climbing. In winter, Cerro Catedral is visited by increasing numbers of winter sports enthusiasts every year; it is the largest and most developed ski resort in South America with 600 hectares of snow.
