Day 1 - Welcome to Rio

On arrival at Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG), please clear customs and immigrations and collect your luggage. Meet and greet your local tour director at the disembark area.

During your private transfer to your hotel the local guide will provide some introductory information about the Marvelous City of Rio de Janeiro.

Fairmont Hotel is located by the end of Copacabana beach and offers a clear view of this worldwide known postcard. Enjoy this hotel inspired by the glamour Carioca of the 50’s, and its great location between Ipanema and Copacabana. Enjoy the freedom to explore these unmissable beach neighborhoods experiencing the two beaches or fleeing around the art galleries in Copacabana. If you prefer to take your time to relax, make the best of Fairmont’s two swimming pools, spa, sauna, restaurants and bars, and maybe try a visit to Colombo Restaurant and Confectionery at Copacabana Fort, just across the street of your hotel.

Day 2 - Exploring the Marvelous City

Enjoy breakfast at the Fairmont Copacabana Restaurant.

Depart for a half-day privately guided excursion, with professional English-speaking guide to Sugar Loaf Mountain. After being picked-up from your hotel, enjoy a scenic drive to Praia Vermelha, in the Urca neighborhood of Rio.

To reach the Sugar Loaf peak, ride a cable car to the top of Urca Hill to the gardens and lookout points over the Guanabara Bay, where you can see Rio’s unique landscape. Afterwards, take a second cable to the Sugar Loaf peak, nearly 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level. The views of the beaches, the Bay, hills and harbor are breathtaking from this vantage point.

After your excursion return to the hotel where the rest of your afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Day 3 - New Year's Eve

Enjoy breakfast at the Fairmont Hotel and enjoy your morning on your own way. Our suggestion is a short walk by the sea sidewalk or around the hotel enjoying the streets closed for cars.

Get ready to ring in the New Year in typical Brazilian fashion. Cariocas will all be dressed in white for the occasion, to bring in peace and light for the year to come. Head to one of the Fairmont Rio’s parties with views to the fireworks or be like a local and ring in the New Year on the sand looking up to the fireworks show. The celebration is sure to be memorable.

Day 4 - Day at Leisure

Enjoy your first breakfast of the year and spend the entire day at leisure.

Enjoy your last tropical breakfast at the Fairmont Hotel.

Your private guide and driver will take you to Rio airport to embark on your departure flight (not included).
