Hotel overview
The Kandy House by Manor House Concepts, is a unique ancestral manor house (walauwa) providing seclusion and serenity for its guests in a lush, tropical garden setting, close to Kandy. With only 9 uniquely styled bedrooms, the aim is to give guests an experience of staying more in a private house than a conventional hotel. Traditional Kandyan architecture has been blended with modern, polished titanium cement floors and bathrooms. Guests can lose themselves in the lush gardens of the property and cool off with a dip in the infinity pool overlooking paddy fields or unwind with a traditional Ayurvedic massage in the elevated Ambalama with views out to the hills. It is well-placed to explore a broad selection of Sri Lanka's primary destinations in the Cultural Triangle and Tea Country.
Types of Rooms
Ultra-Rooms
Red Spot Duke and Peacock Royal are spacious double rooms, opening onto a wide verandah.
Indian Admiral is located on the upper floor around the inner courtyard, opening onto its own outer verandah, this large room looks towards luscious green paddy fields and the infinity pool.
Black Rajah with its arched doors opening onto an outdoor verandah, also boasts an octagonal stone bath. There’s a double swing-hammock in a “secret” garden nearby.
Deluxe Rooms
Sunbeam room is located on the upper floor around the inner courtyard, enjoying a view over the stunning jungle-fringed infinity pool.
Cornelian room is on the upper floor around the inner courtyard, with access to a verandah with chaise lounges and views to the jungle.
Monkey Puzzle with its own arched doorway leading to a small outdoor verandah is one of their twin rooms. The room adjoins the Black Rajah room and is ideal for families travelling with teenage children to book both rooms.
Pioneer room has a private verandah and nestled right into the garden, where your own swing-hammock awaits you. This is one of their twin rooms.
Lime Butterfly is located on the on the upper floor with access from the inner courtyard.
Room Amenities
All rooms come with four-poster king-size bed or king size bed ,mosquito net, sofa, large cupboard and other antique furniture , a luxurious bathroom with separate shower and/or bath, WC and twin-vanities. Monkey Puzzle and Pioneer are Twin bedded and do not have bath tubs. The Rooms at Kandy House do not have TV or telephone. All rooms are with air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
