Paradise Road The Villa Bentota is a charming, private hotel located one and a half hours’ drive south of Colombo. Sprawling across two acres The Villa Bentota is considered to be Sri Lanka’s first boutique hotel. The original villa, “Mohotti Walauwa” was refurbished and extended with incredible sensitivity to the original design by world-renowned architect, Geoffrey Bawa, and the 15 individually-designed rooms and suites all have modern amenities and services. The extensive lawn opens out to the sea, with additional features including swimming pools, a massage room, restaurant and bar.
Types of Rooms
The Single Room
The Single Room is located on the first floor and suitable for a single traveler. It has a small balcony with a view of the swimming pool with sea beyond. The attached bathroom has a rain shower. This room does not have a television or minibar.
Standard Room
The standard rooms are sea-facing, garden-facing, or they feature balconies with a table and two/four chairs. All rooms feature a king-size bed and the standard listed features.
Superior Suites
The Superior Suites all feature sea/garden facing balconies with private lounge spaces.
Executive Suites
The Executive Suites do not offer sea or garden views but are the perfect option when seeking extra privacy along with the comfort of additional space.
Mohotti Suite
The Mohotti Suite is suitable for larger families or friends seeking privacy and luxury. Decorated with original antique Dutch period four-poster beds, chairs and Persian rugs, this space is accessed by a private stairway and overlooking both swimming pools. The Mohotti Suite consists of two Double Rooms (one king-size bed and one queen-size bed), a shared grand bathroom with free-standing bath tub and a separate lounge area with lounge chairs, TV and stereo facilities.
Room Amenities
Standard amenities include air conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, a personal safe, sumptuous bedding on king-size beds (except Single Room), bespoke amenity range of toiletries by Spa Ceylon, LCD TV screens with cable channels & DVD library and mini bar.
